Policy Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how the Peiji iOS App (hereinafter "Peiji") handles your information. Peiji values your privacy and only processes necessary information when you actively use specific features.

Information We Process

Peiji is a local-first recording tool. Only when you actively use AI smart organization features will related information be sent to the cloud for processing.

Content You Actively Input or Provide

Manually entered or pasted text
Photos or images selected from your album or taken with camera
Recorded voice
Dates, times, categories, and reminders you set

Device Information

Peiji generates a random installation identifier (UUID) on your device to prevent service abuse. This identifier does not contain personal information and is not linked to your real identity.

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored locally on your device by default and is not automatically uploaded to the cloud:

All records in calendar, growth plans, and interest schedules
Tasks, reminders, and notes you create
Photos and attachments you save
User profile and app settings

This data is stored in your iOS device's local storage and Keychain. Peiji cannot access it remotely.

AI Smart Organization Data Processing

When you actively use the following features, related content will be sent to the cloud for recognition and structured processing:

Smart Text Organization from Paste: Text content you paste
Photo Recognition: Photos you take or select
Voice Input: Voice you record

Processing Purpose

Cloud processing is used for:

Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR)
Extracting tasks, dates, times, categories, and reminder information

Data Flow

Your submitted content is sent through Peiji's processing service to third-party AI service providers. The data flow varies depending on your App Store region:

China Mainland App Store Users:

Pasted text, image contents, voice recordings and transcripts are sent through Peiji backend server to Alibaba Cloud for OCR, ASR, and task/date/time extraction
Voice recording files are temporarily stored in Alibaba Cloud OSS solely for completing voice recognition

Other Region App Store Users:

Pasted text, image contents, voice recordings and transcripts are sent through Peiji backend server to Alibaba Cloud for OCR, ASR, and task/date/time extraction
Voice recording files are temporarily stored in Supabase Storage solely for temporary relay storage needed for voice recognition

Data Retention and Deletion

AI recognition results are returned to your device, and you decide whether to save them
Temporary voice files are automatically deleted after processing, typically retained for less than 5 minutes, and are not used for long-term storage
Backend server may retain request logs for troubleshooting and service optimization

Processing is solely for extracting task information. Your data will not be used by third parties for model training or other purposes.

If you need to delete submitted content or request data removal, please contact us through the contact information at the end of this policy. We will process your request as soon as possible after verification.

User Consent and Control

To protect your data rights, Peiji will request your explicit consent before you first use AI features.

First-Time Consent

When you first try to use smart text organization from paste, photo recognition, or voice input features, the app will display a "Data Processing Notice" dialog informing you that:

Pasted text, full contents of images, voice recordings and transcripts will be sent through Peiji's service to third-party AI service providers for processing
Processing is solely for OCR, speech transcription, and extraction of tasks, dates, and times
Your data will not be used by third parties for model training or other purposes
Voice recordings are temporarily stored and automatically deleted after processing

You can choose:

Agree & Continue: Explicitly consent to sending the above data to the listed third-party services for this processing
Not Now: Decline authorization, no data will be uploaded, and AI features will be unavailable

Withdrawing Consent

You can withdraw AI data processing authorization at any time in the app:

Open the "Profile" page
Go to "Data & Privacy"
Tap "AI Data Processing Authorization"
Select "Revoke Authorization"

After revoking authorization:

AI smart organization features will stop working
You can still use manual entry, calendar, growth plans, and other local features normally
You will be asked for consent again the next time you use AI features

Camera, Photo Library, Microphone, and Notification Permissions

Peiji only requests the following permissions when you actively use related features:

Camera: Recognize teacher notifications and homework assignments from photos
Photo Library: Select photos from your album for recognition
Microphone: Record voice and convert it to text
Notifications: Send task and schedule reminders

You can manage these permissions at any time in iOS system settings. Denying authorization will not affect the normal use of other features.

In-App Purchases and Transaction Verification

Peiji supports the following in-app purchase items:

Peiji Pro (one-time purchase): Unlock unlimited growth plans and interest schedules
AI Usage Packs (consumable items): Purchase AI smart organization uses

All payments are processed by Apple App Store. Peiji does not directly obtain your bank card number, payment password, or complete payment information.

Peiji receives signed transaction data (JWS Token) provided by Apple to verify the authenticity and validity of purchases. Verification uses Apple's public certificates for local signature verification and does not call Apple Server APIs. During verification, the following is checked:

Product ID
App Bundle ID
Transaction time and status

Third-Party Services

The third-party services used by Peiji vary by App Store region:

China Mainland App Store Users

Alibaba Cloud
Purpose: Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), intelligent text parsing
Data flow: Your actively submitted pasted text, image contents, voice recordings and transcripts are sent to Alibaba Cloud for processing
Temporary storage: Voice recording files are temporarily stored in Alibaba Cloud OSS and automatically deleted after processing (typically less than 5 minutes)

Other Region App Store Users

Supabase Storage
Purpose: Only for temporary relay storage of voice recordings
Data flow: Voice recording files are temporarily uploaded to Supabase Storage
Temporary storage: Automatically deleted after processing (typically less than 5 minutes), not used for long-term storage
Privacy policy: Supabase Privacy Policy

All Users

Alibaba Cloud Function Compute
Purpose: Host Peiji backend processing server
Data flow: All AI requests are forwarded through backend server to respective third-party AI services
Privacy policy: Alibaba Cloud Privacy Policy

The above third-party service providers should provide the same or equivalent level of data protection.

Peiji does not use advertising services, behavior tracking, data analytics, or other third-party SDKs.

Minors' Privacy

Peiji is a daily organization tool for parents and is not intended for direct use by minors. When using Peiji, parents should not submit unnecessary sensitive personal information about children (such as close-up photos of children's faces, ID numbers, etc.).

Data Security

Peiji takes the following measures to protect your data:

All network requests use HTTPS encrypted transmission
Installation identifier is stored in iOS Keychain
Local data is protected by iOS system security mechanisms
Backend servers are deployed in secure regions of trusted cloud service providers

Account and Cloud Sync

Peiji currently does not provide account registration and automatic cloud sync features. All records are saved locally on your device by default.

If you change devices, existing records will not be automatically migrated. If cloud sync features are introduced in the future, we will obtain your consent in advance.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy based on legal requirements, technical changes, or product features. Major changes will be notified in advance in prominent positions within the app or on this page.

Continued use of Peiji indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
